Few times of the year put us in the holiday frame of mind less than Thanksgiving. Perhaps that’s because it carries fewer frills than other national celebrations. No gift-giving is required on Thanksgiving. No lights must be strung from the edges of our roofs.
Instead, the heart of Thanksgiving is an attitude of gratitude and the joy of family and friends. We gather around a common table to share a meal—what could be simpler? Yet the experience is also profound because it creates lasting memories we’ll cherish for many years to come.
We realize every family is different, and Thanksgiving has unique meaning to everyone. No matter where you find yourself this season, even if you are on the road or apart from those you care about most, cherish the opportunity to put service above self. Even the act of offering a sincere smile to complete strangers can brighten their day and place you on a positive track early in the morning.
Look for opportunities to volunteer in your community or to help a family member by raking leaves or cleaning the kitchen after the big meal. In spite of all of our differences, Thanksgiving is one time when we can all be in the same place, at the same time and have an enjoyable few hours together.
We have many blessings, including our incredible customers. From all of us at Carpets America, have a happy Thanksgiving and the best holiday season yet.
